Far Cry Primal Announced

UPDATE: Release date to be 23rd Feb 2016 for Xbox One and PS4 (PC March 2016)

Ubisoft teased the hell out of us yesterday (06/10/15) with a live stream of a looping animated cave painting which went on and on for hours. Finally it has led to the full announcement of Far Cry Primal.

"Welcome to the Stone Age, a time of extreme danger and limitless adventure, when giant mammoths and saber-toothed tigers ruled the Earth, and humanity was at the bottom of the food chain. You will play as Takkar, a seasoned hunter and the last surviving member of your group. You have one goal: survival in a world where you are the prey. Grow your tribe and hone your skills to lead your people, conquer the land of Oros, and become the apex predator. Encounter a cast of memorable characters who can help push back the dangers of the wild. Face enemy tribes who will do anything to eradicate you and your allies." says the game's description from the official website.

Far Cry Primal will feature a Day/Night cycle which will greatly affect hunting and overall gameplay. There will not be any guns or vehicles which could make for a very different Far Cry experience from what we are all used to expecting from the series. Regardless, Primal still looks like a very interesting game to play and looks like it fits within the vein of Blood Dragon, with this being a kind of offshoot themed game rather than a full blown sequel. I would dare say that we will see a full sequel (Far Cry 5) sometime early in 2017.
