PlayStation Australia Launches PlayFest 2017 – a celebration of the best place to play

A handful of lucky Australians will get the chance to experience a one-of-a-kind, super-charged
PlayStation 4 event in Sydney next week

Sydney, Australia – 15 November 2017: PlayStation Australia has today announced the return of
PlayFest, a unique celebration of PlayStation gaming, bringing players closer than ever to some of the biggest unreleased titles coming to PlayStation®4 (PS4™) and PlayStation®VR (PS VR) for one night only.

On Wednesday November 22nd, PlayFest will descend on an exclusive private residence in Sydney, offering a supercharged experience dedicated to the players. As attendees move through each room, they will journey into the immersive world of PlayStation, with a special guest from Sony
Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios opening the event.

Detroit: Become Human™ from Quantic Dream™ will form the centrepiece of PlayFest’s stunning lineup, inviting players to enter a dystopic vision of Detroit where humans and androids maintain a fragile co-existence and every decision drives the story ahead in different ways. Remastered adventure classic Shadow of the Colossus™ will be available to play for the first time in Australia. For those wanting to escape to new worlds, PlayStation’s lineup of immersive PlayStation VR titles continue with The Inpatient™ and Bravo Team™ both playable ahead of their release. Players will also be able to get hands-on with Bethesda Softwork’s fast-paced, first-person shooter DOOM® VFR for the first time in Australia.

Each player will have a chance to get hands on with the new PlayLink for PS4 range - social gaming that everyone can enjoy - by connecting a smartphone or tablet to the PS4. Players can make tough decisions that impact the branching storyline in the interactive crime thriller Hidden Agenda™, bluff, battle, negotiate and co-operate their way to victory in Frantics™ or battle their way to the top in the entertaining game show quiz, Knowledge Is Power™.

Patrick Lagana, Director of Marketing, Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia, said:

“PlayFest is a unique celebration of the best games and experiences coming to PlayStation 4 ahead of Christmas and beyond. We want to thank Australian players for their dedication to PlayStation with this exciting opportunity to play a variety of blockbuster titles before release.”
