PS5 Teardown: An inside look at PlayStation’s most transformative console yet

Finally we have a tear down of the PS5 to see just how the massive console is on the inside and just how the components are laid out.
We all know Sony has been quiet ahead of the PS5 release coming on November 12th and today we got our best look at the PS5 internal architecture along with a close up of the external ports.

The tear down video we got today was very clean and very corporate, a common theme when it comes to Sony and Playstation of recent times in the way they have been doing things of late. Showcased by Yasuhiro Ootori VP, Mechanical Design Dept. Hardware Design Division of SIE we get a full look down of just what it takes to build the PS5.

The full release can be found here but I want to bring one part of the release to particular attention.

“Our team values a well thought out, beautifully designed architecture. Inside the console is an internal structure looking neat and tidy, which means that there aren’t any unnecessary components and the design is efficient. As a result, we’re able to achieve our goal of creating a product with a high degree of perfection and quality.”

“After an extensive and complex trial and error process, we were pleased with the end result and I cannot wait for our fans to get their hands on the PS5 console and “hear” it for themselves.”

Masayasu Ito, Executive Vice President of Hardware Engineering and Operation at Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Sony looks to also have focused on the feedback from its customers, the noise from the fans on the PS4 was horrendous, certain games I could hear them through my headset still. The PS5 should be nice and quiet.

Above all else, It doesn't matter what side of the console fence you sit on, the next month is going to be fun!
