Xbox Developer_Direct 2025
In the early hours of last Friday Xbox gave us their latest Developer Direct. A format change from previous showcases was delivered and I for one hope they continue with this new and personal way to showcase the hard work these teams are putting in for our enjoyment. Game creators from id Software, Compulsion Games, Sandfall Interactive, and Team NINJA & PlatinumGames – in partnership with Xbox Game Studios Publishing – showcased brand-new gameplay and updates on four upcoming game launches (plus one surprise remaster).
It was truly a refreshing way to be walked literally walked through these studios and have the team members present their works directly. The pride was there for all to see but were the games any good?
Simply put yes. The showcase had a bit of everything. Team Ninja Kicked off with Ninja Gaiden 4 with a surprise Ninja Gaiden 2 remaster available straight away on game pass. id Software showed us more DOOM: The Dark Ages, Compulsion Games took us on a trip into the dark twisted tales of the deep south with more gameplay and story elements from South of Midnight while Sandfall Interactive showed off their upcoming Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, while not a game for me it looks to have a really cool story.
Check out the full breakdown and releases below. or you can jump on over to the Xbox Wire.
