Everything Announced at PlayStation State of Play (Feb 2025)

PlayStation has been through a bit of upheaval in recent memory. Big changes at the top, studio closures, downsizing and questions surrounding their availability of PS5 content have been a cause for concern for anyone in the blue corner of the gaming sphere.

Yet with a new year comes renewed optimism and hope, starting off with the first State of Play for 2025. While I tried to keep my expectations in check I was hoping for a lot more and at least some more from the top tier PlayStation Studios teams to as we look forward to our next big single player experience that PlayStation is so well known for.

Of course the usual "rumours" abound before the show with the likes of a Bloodborne Remaster, PC release or sequel on the cards once again the top of the wishlist for many. Given Sony's take down notices served recently there was even more hype than usual, sadly not this time around. Nor was there anything on the rumoured remake of the original God of War Trilogy or confirmation of a new title. Ultimately if you were hoping for PlayStation Studios to give us dates on titles slated for release this year we missed out.

That said though todays State of Play was a bit of a mixed bag. Some good looking titles were offset by a bit of filler and even a bit more of a view of a game from Housemarque which helped bookend the showcase. At over 40 minutes long there is a lot to get through so have a look below at all the trailers released today.

Housemarque Reveals SAROS

  • Very little showcased from the team but looks to build upon the experience and concept of their most recent title Returnal. Ominous, fast paced and beautiful, SAROS will surely push the PS5 to its limits. Coming to the PS5 2026

Darwin's Paradox

Minds Eye: Story Trailer and Gameplay Trailer.

  • Looks like a fast paced 3rd person shooter with elements of GTA and Cyberpunk. Coming soon to PS5, Xbox & PC.

Days Gone Remaster

Last but certainly not least we get a remaster. Not one that was really on the radar given Sony's less than stellar treatment of the title and developer Bend Studio. Days Gone is getting an update to run better on the PS5 along with a photo mode, speedrun and extra horde modes. Out April 25th on PS5 and PC, can be upgraded for the usual fee.
